When you attend for your appointment please wear loose fitting clothes without any metal zippers, metal buttons, metal fastenings, belts etc. If you need special assistance (e.g. wheelchair user) please ring the relevant DEXA Unit in advance to ensure that the necessary preparations have been made. At the time of your DEXA scan you may be asked if you are pregnant (if relevant) or if there have been any changes to your clinical status since your previous appointment and specifically if there have been any new medication changes or fractures.
A DEXA report of your scan (similar to below) will be returned to the referring doctor within a couple of working days of you having a scan performed.
